Wigwam is a
cancer support group with a difference.
It is a community designed to equip cancer patients
with unbiased information and the confidence to take control of their lives,
empowering them to move forward and ultimately see positive changes in their
lives.
The
Wigwam
concept was established by the cancer charity
Yes to
Life as an
organic network of support groups.
They provide guidance and access to resources that
may help members living with cancer.
The Staines Group
meets on Zoom providing the opportunity to come together to
share, listen and learn. We meet on the second Monday of each month
from 17:00 to 18:30. Between us we agree an approach for the sessions.
As well as sharing our stories, providing mutual
support and lessons learnt, doing a meditation, at each meeting we cover a discussion topic.
Typically, these could include: resources available,
weight, exercise and diet (what to avoid and what to include), lifestyle,
detoxing the home, questions for your oncologist, supplements to boost the immune
system, relieving stress……
Yes to Life

are the
UK’s integrative cancer charity.
For more than a decade, they have provided support
to people with cancer through the confusing options for care.
They offer straightforward evidence-based
information on lifestyle choices as well as financial support to empower people
to make their own choices about their cancer care.
